"I just tried your product here in Juneau, Alaska. Black Licorice has always been a favorite of mine since I was young. Funny how a particular taste is always there and wanting. There are a few brands for sale here but they are so pitiful in taste I don't even buy them.
I enjoy the description of a lucky mistake of how it was once made from a hard candy to this lovely bite you have now.
Also, I want to commend your efforts in rectifying the recall and making a product that is safe. When I got on line and saw the old recall notices, I thought to myself, I wouldn't have anything to return because I probably would have eaten it already.
I'm 50 yrs of age and just going back to school again to start a different career for the 2ND half of my life. I'm having to learn a lot just to be able to write a paper on a PC, which is a new game too. The licorice will be close by for my rewards, I think I need a lot of rewards lately as I dip into the bag.
Lenka, I would love to know how it is made. In my mind I fantasize or visualize a factory with huge bowls or containers that mixes and cooks or heats up the thick blackness to a certain temperature. The thick mass would be poured into another type of machine that would press through holes; miles of cooling licorice ropes to be diced to bite size pieces.
Anyway, I'm laughing as I think about it.
